Lindsay Larson BVM&S, MRCVS
Originally from Alaska, Lindsay first received a Bachelor’s degree in biology at Oregon State University before moving to Edinburgh in 2006. She qualified from The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in 2010, has worked at Happy Pets since February 2011 and is now our principal veterinary surgeon. She has a special interest in ophthalmology, and particularly enjoys small animal surgery. Outside work Lindsay enjoys travelling, horse riding, cycling, and camping (when the weather’s nice!). She has a miniature Dachshund, Pickle, who can generally be found front of house greeting clients and patients alike, as they walk through the door.

Esther Halcrow BVM&S, MRCVS
Esther is our part-time vet who you will often see filling in at Happy Pets. She graduated in 2005 from The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies and has a wealth of experience in both small and large animal clinical work. Esther is highly qualified in emergency medicine and particularly enjoys small animal surgery. Outside of work, Esther enjoys cooking, cycling, exploring Scotland’s great outdoors and photography. She is super crafty and makes delicious homemade wine and champagne.

Alice Parr BSc(Hons), RVN
Alice has been working at Happy Pets as a veterinary nurse and practice manager since graduating from Edinburgh Napier University in June 2011. She is originally from Bristol but has settled in Edinburgh following graduation. She enjoys all aspects of small animal nursing, with a keen interest in anaesthetics. Alice has two dogs: a Jack Russell cross called Martha Bunty and a Dachshund cross called Agnes Bean. She enjoys travelling, keeping fit and creating deliciously healthy recipes (or eating anything containing a combination of chocolate and peanut butter).

Carol BSc(Hons), Animal Biology
Carol (also known as Cal) is our office manager and receptionist who has been with us since 2011 and is responsible for the smooth running of our office. She is originally from Toronto but has come back to her Scottish roots and is now proud to call Edinburgh her home. In her spare time she likes to bake epic cakes, exercise, travel and cuddle Pickle whenever possible.

Kirsty is our Saturday morning receptionist who is currently studying for an honours degree in veterinary nursing. She has previously lived on the Isle of Skye, working in the veterinary industry for over 6 years and gaining practical experience that she now applies to practice whilst completing her nursing course in Edinburgh. She is a boat enthusiast and a certified diver, as well as having a passion for horse riding and volunteering abroad. In her spare time she likes dog walking, keeping fit and relaxing with friends.
